I know I’ve said it before, but truly, there is no greater honor than to have return clients ask me to capture another special chapter in their lives. Baby Katherine was no exception. I first met her mom, Kristen, when she emailed me about scheduling a newborn session for her sweet Emily (now the big sister!) when she was just a few days old. She knew that the ‘newborn window’ was short, and thankfully, we were able to capture sweet, tiny Emily just in time. I loved getting to know this family, capturing newborn Emily, and then one-year old Emily….so when I found out that they were expecting another little one, I was beyond excited to get the “We need to schedule a newborn session!” message from Kristen. In fact, this message was the first session request that I’d received via Instagram! Kristen had posted a coming home from the hospital picture of Katherine (Kat) – and tagged me to get the session scheduled – loved it!!!
While I love getting to capture all of the precious little moments with a newborn, there’s just another special element added when there’s a sibling involved – especially one so young herself. These two reminded me of my own girls, and those first interactions between baby and big sister – they tug at my heartstrings, I tell you.
Big sister….on her little tippy toes, following mom as her little helper…
And those moments with Daddy, while the little one is being fed and changed….
Sweet, sweet moments, and a little peek-a-boo too!
Sweet, sweet baby Katherine…
When the big sister is still this little, you know that the attention span will be short….so I loved every interaction that we captured between these two sisters.
Kristen – I know this post is overdue, and Kat is growing so, so fast, but I’m honored that you asked me once again to capture these moments of your precious family! I simply adore your girls!! xoxo
