Yes, I forced my parents to go in front of the camera. I did….thankfully they agreed and didn’t put up a fight. :) But let me back up a bit…
And it didn’t take long before my girls wanted to join in on the fun. Guaranteed silliness when they all get together! And Grandpa, having raised two daughters of his own, and now two more granddaughters…..well, let’s just say he’s a very patient man. :)
And this picture pretty much captures my patient dad and his lovely girls!
Such a beautiful morning…..we ran, and explored, and chased, and hugged.
And my youngest asked if she could take a picture all by herself….um, of course you can! Your photographer mom will NEVER say no to that request (because I’m certain that requests like this won’t happen much longer :)
After this, we headed over and down to the beach, but not before stopping to watch the trains below us!
Once again, while I got my parents alone for a bit….the girls weren’t far behind and were quick to jump in the shot!
And yes, my parents loved it! :)
Shortly after, I was able to get a few with my parents alone. I have to say, it’s an interesting experience to elicit and witness emotion between your own parents. Their story: Met in high school. Married for 45 years. Lived several places and eventually landed in Seattle. Raised two girls. Always in love. Always respectful. Always patient. Looking at these images, I’m just reminded of what an amazing example they’ve always been….just by loving and supporting each other…..always.
Mom and Dad….I’m so grateful that you set this time aside for me. And that you let me capture these. Every single one of these makes me smile, and I consider this such a gift to everyone in our family. Love you both!!!

Lisa, this shoot is beautiful…. but the fact that you have captured your parent’s and your babies- they will treasure these for generations to come. Again, THIS is why we do what we do.!!
