Oh, it’s been awhile. I’ve missed this blog and my chance to write and share things in this format & forum. Looking back…I really, truly can’t believe how fast time moves along – it literally boggles my mind! It was a wonderful, swimming, playing, boating, paddling-filled summer, followed by a crazy full, busy and fun fall…and then suddenly, it was the end of the year!
Even though I’ve missed some “Everyday Moments” months and posts, I’ve decided that I’m just going to pick up from here and keep moving forward. Every time I do a post like this, it forces me to review, reflect, and make sure I’ve really taken care of and organized my personal images. As much time and effort as I put in to every single client, I really want to make sure that I do the same for my own family and our memories. With that said, I present to you, our ‘Everyday Moments’ for fall and winter 2015!
Our start to school…so much excitement over our start to middle school and 3rd grade…I really couldn’t have asked for more. Confident, ready, and excited, and they came home with the “best day EVER!” type of reviews.
Every September, it’s a tradition that we find time to make it out to the Puyallup Fair (or Western WA State Fair)…but to me, it will always be about scones, elephant ears and making sure we “Do the Puyallup!”
Our fall also included a fun field trip to Pioneer Farm…an all-day, hands-on experience for the kids to step a century back in time and experience what homesteading would have been like in Washington State. It was a great experience.
We are big Husky fans, and I LOVE any chance we get to take our girls to the UW campus and getting to go to the Oregon game was a big, exciting deal in our house. SO fun. And no comment on the game itself. :)
And then fall was fully upon us…and I LOVE getting those annual pumpkin pictures, and the girls know it. I think they love it just as much, because they’re always willing to go & take them. I just love the colors.
And one day, the color of the fall leaves at the front of our neighborhood was almost more than we could take….we HAD to go play in them!!
We also had some beautiful October days, and took advantage of one of them to head to Boathouse 19 to celebrate Gregg’s birthday!
And sometimes, I witness quiet moments at the house where they are not arguing and are actually enjoying each other’s company. In my book, those are moments worth capturing. :)
And then Halloween was upon us. My youngest has wanted to be Hermione Grainger for several years, and she was SO excited that this was her year. So excited, in fact, that she wanted to do her own photo session, in costume, in order to act out and channel her inner Hermione. I really can’t tell you how excited I was to help her make this happen. :)
And my very excited middle-schooler flapper… :)
A highlight for November, when we made my mom’s long-awaited wish come true…a photo session for her entire family (and one where I was in the picture too :) I am so, so grateful to my dear friend Bradie ( Bradie K. Photography ) for helping us make this happen.
And one I cherish…as my sister and I haven’t had a picture taken together for many, many years – love my beautiful little sis!!
Another fun outing…when Morgan had the day off of school, and we decided to head out for a photo walk. I loved seeing her vision and what she captured!
Our favorite new sign for Thanksgiving….so much to be thankful for…both that day, and every day.
Our favorite day-after-Thanksgiving activity…decorating for Christmas!
And Morgan’s Christmas program:
Followed by the first of our December birthdays, with Morgan turning 9! When your two party-planning, creative girls are allowed to create their own board on my Pinterest account, they came up with all sorts of fun ideas!
And the following day, Macy’s party celebrating her turning 12!
The rest of December was filled with so many other fun moments and traditions. The lighted Boat Parade in Gig Harbor:
And gingerbread house decorating!
Followed by our annual baking day tradition:
And some quiet, winter break time at home:
And Christmas itself…a special time with family.
And post- holiday lego building with dad is our very favorite! :)
And one of our very favorite, last days of break happenings – SNOW!! In our own backyard – the best.
And that….my friends, is a WRAP!! Whew… I love looking back at these, and now realize why I could have slept for several days at the end of December….a busy, busy season….but time is going fast, and more than ever, I love capturing our memories and traditions.
