This story has been a long time in the making. It’s not all my story to tell, but I’ve been privileged enough to be invited in by this family, on a few occasions now, to capture some pretty special moments along the way.
A couple of years ago, I was contacted by Julie, who only said that she was wanting to book a session to capture some fun, updated pictures of she and her husband together. I felt a connection to her from the start, and it wasn’t until I met these two, that I learned that they’d been married nearly 10 years…their connection, love, and playfulness was evident from the get-go. It was during their session that they both explained that the purpose of these pictures was to start their adoption journey, and capture the two of them to share via both the images, photo books, and online as well. These were a few we captured that day…
Aren’t they the cutest? Their joy, positivity, and love….I knew these two were going to be amazing parents and I was excited to follow their journey.
Later that year, I was also asked to capture some images as Julie’s dad’s retirement was approaching…I traveled up to Sequim for the day and captured their entire family together. Truly the kindest, welcoming family…I loved having a chance to meet and get to know all of them a bit more.
And one day, early the following year, I opened up Facebook to see both Julie and Jonathan tagged in a few pictures with two little babies….boy/girl twins…and my heart soared!! I didn’t know the entire story at that point, but I knew that these two amazing people had become parents and that these precious babies were HOME. I couldn’t get enough of their posts and pictures of all of them as a family.
During that time, I also learned that Julie’s brother had met someone special, and that he was getting married as well! So many wonderful, joyful changes for this family in just one short year.
Shortly thereafter, with all of these amazing changes, I was asked to capture their ENTIRE family during the Lavender Festival up in Sequim. Thankfully, our schedules all aligned and I was beyond excited to capture everyone together.
I mean seriously…..LOOK at these sweet faces!!! In love.
And the most adoring parents…
And truly, just the sweetest family.
And they are big Seahawks fans, so you know we had to capture these few as well! :)
I love looking back at these, and I’m so thankful to have met this wonderful family and be asked to help capture this chapter of their lives!
To the Appleton & Christopher Families….thank you so, so much for your kindness and opportunity to work with all of you – I couldn’t have enjoyed it more & wish you all nothing but joy and happiness!
